Camden Valley Basketball Association are happy to announce the following employment opportunity, currently open to suitable applicants.

Camden Valley Basketball Association requires a Basketball Coaching Supervisor to play an integral role in the coordination, development and growth of Basketball programs across all levels (from Grassroots age groups to Open/Senior age groups). The position would begin as a permanent part time role, with the potential to go fulltime for a suitable applicant.

The Basketball Coaching Supervisor will be expected to work with the General Manager and Executive Board of Camden Valley Basketball Association to ensure the needs of Wildfire's Basketball programs are being met.

 

Camden Valley Wildfire is a vibrant, young basketball club which continues to grow with talent. We are always on the lookout for dedicated youngsters to join us and play a part in our bright future. We run junior and senior local basketball competitions throughout the Camden and Liverpool areas as well as competing in the Junior and Senior Waratah League.

 

Camden Valley Wildfire’s mission is to run high quality local competitions while ensuring our players, coaches and referees, can access representative pathways so that our club can compete at the highest level across NSW, Australia and abroad.

POSITION TITLE:

 

Basketball Coaching Supervisor

EMPLOYMENT LOCATIONS:  

 

Thomas Hassall Anglican Collge (THAC), Mt Annan Leisure Centre (Mt Annan) & Mt Annan Christian College (MACC)

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

​​

  • Proven people management and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in managing staff 

  • The ability to carry out duties with limited supervision and co-operatively participate as a team member when required

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently and to use initiative and problem solving skills in order to organise and prioritise workloads

  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive information

  • A high standard of personal appearance and conduct, that is: clean, neat, tidy, punctual and respectful language and manner toward visitors, patrons and others.

  • Hold a current Working with Children’s Check

  • Hold (at minimum) a Club Coach (formerly Level 1) Basketball NSW (BNSW) Accreditation

  • Level 1 First Aid (preferred)

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • To become lead Coach for Wildfire Basketball programs across Sporting Schools (including being the primary/lead Coach for Thomas Hassall Catholic College & Wildfire driven internal Basketball programs)

  • To develop, implement, manage and grow basketball programs for juniors, senior and open age level. This includes programs from grass roots (Aussie Hoops/Learn to play/School Program), community engagement (inclusivity and diversity) to High Performance Programs

  • Develop, implement and manage a complete basketball coaching program across all levels and age groups

  • Act as a mentor and supervisor to all coaches in both the domestic and representative competitions

  • Lead the coaching selection process for domestic and representative competitions

  • Develop programs for player and coaching retention

  • Organise for coaches to attend ongoing training

  • Allocate coaches for Sporting schools, Aussie Hoops, Learn to play and other training programs

  • Additional ad-hoc duties that may be required by CVBA Wildfire General Manager

REQUIRED HOURS:

​

Part time/approx. 10-20 hrs per week / with potential to increase to full time

​

SALARY:

​

Commensurate with experience.
