Court Supervisor

Camden Valley Basketball Association requires one or more Court Supervisors to play an integral role in the coordination and growth of our local competitions. The position would begin as a Court Supervisor with the aim of developing the role to become a competitions manager for a suitable applicant. The Court Supervisor will be expected to work with the Referee Development Officer to ensure the needs of the competition are met.

 

Camden Valley Wildfire is a vibrant, young basketball club which continues to grow with talent. We are always on the lookout for dedicated youngsters to join us and play a part in our bright future. We run junior and senior local basketball competitions throughout the Camden and Liverpool areas as well as competing in the Junior and Senior Waratah League.

POSITION TITLE:         Court Supervisors (potential to become Competitions Manager)

EMPLOYMENT LOCATIONS:   Michael Wenden Centre (Miller) and Mt.Annan Leisure Centre (Mt.Annan)

 

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong conflict resolution skills

  • Proven people management and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated experience in the utilisation of the SportsTG or similar competition database to ensure the effective management of competitions

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in managing sporting competitions

  • The ability to carry out duties with limited supervision and co-operatively participate as a team member when required

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently and to use initiative and problem solving skills in order to organise and prioritise workloads

  • Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive information

  • A high standard of personal appearance and conduct, that is: clean, neat, tidy, punctual and respectful language and manner toward visitors, patrons and others.

  • Hold a current Working with Children’s Check

  • Level 1 First Aid (preferred)

 

 

ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Camden Valley Basketball is looking for a suitably qualified and motivated court supervisor for our local and representative competitions to fulfill the following duties:

  1. Coordinate the proceedings of the competition including ensuring that all games are running to schedule in accordance with the rules and regulations.

  2. To ensure that the score sheets are completed correctly and signed at the end of each game and results are updated on line via Sports TG.

  3. To liaise with the officials in attendance including Referees and Bench Officials and assist and train Bench Officials as needed. To work in a co-operative manner with the Referees supervisor and any other official appointed by BNSW or CVBA.

  4. To ensure any Zone Complaints and Game Complaints are addressed by the appropriate person.

  5. Complete any other official reports including injury, behaviour and incident reports.

  6. Ensure that the original results documents are directed to the Basketball NSW Office, to reach the office by no later than the Tuesday after the matches are played. Scanned copies are to be made and forwarded to the Association Administrator.

  7. Take appropriate action, using the BNSW Zero Tolerance procedures, when an incident or a complaint occurs.

  8. Be willing to attend Zero Tolerance and Sports Rage management and guideline workshops facilitated by Basketball NSW each year.

  9. Ensure that the venue is set-up according to BNSW and CVBA requirements and that the venue is in a safe and clean condition for games. To work in a co-operative manner with the venue supervisor and ensure that our customers treat the venue with respect and that any damage is reported to the CVBA Manager and the Venue Supervisor. Ensure games are running on time

  10. Follow up outstanding payments and unregistered players as required.

 

AVAILABILITY

Applicants may be available for one or more time slots. Hour per week are negotiable within the following time frames:

  • Tuesday: 4:30pm – 9.30pm

  • Friday: 5:30pm – 9.30pm

  • Saturday: 10.00am – 4.00pm

  • Sunday: 10.00am – 7.30pm
